Super impressed by the technology

All the staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming! I had a consultation with Jonny and I found him to be super reassuring (as a nervous patient), thorough, and most importantly honest and realistic in setting expectations with me. He was more than happy to answer all my questions at length and helped me put together a treatment plan I feel confident following up on. At no point did I feel rushed or dismissed. Also super impressed by the technology they used to scan and assess my teeth so we could see and discuss exactly what I would need to have done to achieve my desired result. I’ve left feeling informed and looking forward to coming back to see the team here! Thank you so much!

  • Complete a smile and restore full chewing ability

  • Reduce the risk of bone loss so it doesn’t impact other teeth

  • Create a flawless look that is natural-looking and feeling

  • Last longer than other replacement options

Using the finest looking and strongest materials available we design and manufacture exquisite arches of lifelike implant-supported teeth that fully restore both form and function. Our Prettau Bridge restorations can:

  • Act as an anchor to support our range of world-class full-mouth restorations

New Life Teeth dental centres in Belfast and Edinburgh – Your questions answered

Want to know more about the treatments and services we offer? Here we take the time to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about our range of treatments. Click on the headers below to find out more.

What Is A Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a small lightweight fixture that replaces the missing tooth root. Over time, it fuses with the bone tissue at the missing tooth site (a process known as osseointegration) and creates an incredibly strong foundation that becomes part of the mouth. It can then be used to support a dental crown, a dental bridge, or act as support for an entire arch of replacement teeth.

What Experience Do Your Dentists Have At New Life Teeth?

Our oral surgeons, cosmetic dentists and dental implant dentists in Belfast and Edinburgh have a wealth of skill and experience. They operate at the highest level and are considered some of the most renowned clinicians in their respective areas.

Does It Hurt To Have Dental Implants?

Whether you are undergoing dental implants in Edinburgh or Belfast, you should know that you are in safe and highly capable hands. Every detail of your treatment is painstakingly planned beforehand using the latest computerised technology. Therefore, when it comes to placing your implants we are able to carry out the procedure causing you little or no discomfort. Also, if you are a nervous patient, in addition to local anaesthetic, we can also provide dental sedation to help you relax.

Are Dental Implants Expensive?

Dental implants represent one of the most cost-effective teeth replacement options in the long term because they can last for many years. If you are worried about the initial dental implant costs, ask us about our finance plans allowing you to spread the cost of treatments over many months.

How do I Know If I Am Eligible For Dental Implants Treatment?

The only way to find out if you are indeed eligible is to book a free consultation with our New Life Teeth dental team. We will carry out a full consultation to see if you are eligible for a dental implant restoration.

How Long Will It Take To Straighten My Teeth Using Invisalign Clear Aligners?

Ultimately, it depends upon your individual circumstances. Typically Invisalign patients will notice straighter teeth in 12-18 months. In some cases, it could be as little as 6 months and in others, it may take 2 years. You will have a better understanding of timescales for your individual case when our experienced team examine you and compile your treatment plan.

What Dental Problems Can Invisalign Fix?

Invisalign clear aligners can correct many of the bite problems that conventional fixed brace treatments can assist with. They include overbites, underbites, crossbites, overcrowded teeth, unevenly spaced teeth, crooked teeth and gapped teeth (diastemas). However, our Belfast or Edinburgh dentists can tell you which orthodontic treatment is best suited to your needs.

Do I Have To Wear A Retainer After Orthodontic Treatment?

Once teeth have shifted, it can take up to 6 months for them to settle in their new positions. During this time, they can start to drift back if not supported. Therefore, once treatment has finished, we would advise all patients to wear a custom, lightweight retainer until such times as the teeth have fully stabilised.

Can I Play Sport When Wearing Invisalign Aligners?

Our dentists in Belfast and Edinburgh would advise that you should be able to partake in low impact sports such as football, racket sports, cycling, gymnastics and basketball/netball as they aren’t traumatic enough to cause any problems with the alignment process.

Can Dental Veneers Fix Crooked Teeth?

Yes, but only if they are slightly crooked. Since our cosmetic porcelain veneers are designed to fit over the front surface of a tooth they aren’t able to fix a misaligned bite. They are, however, ideal for making minor cosmetic adjustments to your smile including slightly crooked or uneven teeth.

Can Cosmetic Dental Treatments Improve My Oral Health?

In a word, yes. Dental veneers, for example, can help protect the teeth of a person with worn enamel while dental implants here in Belfast help to strengthen the jaw, prevent bone loss and stop teeth from gravitating out of alignment. While many cosmetic dental treatments are designed to deliver an aesthetically driven smile, no cosmetic dental treatment should be harmful to your oral health. Here at New Life Teeth, for example, our Edinburgh and Belfast dentists prefer to take a holistic approach to dentistry and consider that good oral health and a beautiful smile go hand in hand.

Will People Know If I Have Had Cosmetic Dental Treatments?

Technology, materials and expertise are such that every treatment or restoration should result in a seamless smile where the emphasis is on enhancing natural beauty. Our zirconia crowns, for example, used in conjunction with our Prettau bridges have a natural translucency to them just like natural teeth and can be colour-matched to your existing teeth for a flawless natural look.

Is Teeth Whitening Safe?

In the hands of a skilled dental professional then yes, teeth whitening treatment is safe. Irrespective of whether a patient undergoes chair-side whitening or opts for dentist-led take- home treatments, Our team at New Life Teeth, will ensure that you undergo a thorough oral examination before commencing treatment. This way your whitening treatment will be both safe and comfortable.
